Science

All children have a natural curiosity about the world around them. At CDS, teachers foster that interest by lovingly guiding students through an exploration of God's world. The faith-based A Beka curriculum is used for science in grades K - 4 and Christian Science International is the curriculum for grades 6 - 8. Students are taught to view the world as God's creation and His orderly plan is revealed through the study of earth, biological and physical sciences. The state-of-the-art science lab is managed by Science Specialist, Mrs. Shirley Jobe, who teaches science for grades 6 – 8. Working in conjunction with Mrs. Jobe, teachers in every grade are able to incorporate hands-on lab activities with classroom instruction. In the Spring, CDS students participate in a Science Fair where they demonstrate their investigation of God’s world utilizing the scientific method. View Mrs. Jobe's Classroom Page
