Offering a challenging, comprehensive Christian curriculum is our focus at CDS. Recognizing that all students do not learn in the same way, we use a variety of texts and teaching techniques to accommodate the different learning styles of students. We take a Biblical approach to instruction – imparting knowledge, generating understanding, and building wisdom. This comprehensive approach includes every area of a student’s life – spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially and comprises our Schoolwide Learning Goals.  At each grade level the Christian world-view is emphasized, enabling children to become spiritually strong, while developing their God-given talents and abilities. The academic progress of students in grades K – 8 is evaluated yearly with standardized achievement testing (Stanford 10). On average, CDS students consistently score well above grade level on these tests. In an effort to seek continual improvement, current and new curriculum is reviewed and evaluated on an ongoing basis to insure the best educational standards are being met. CDS students compete successfully in the annual ACSI Math Olympics and ACSI Spelling Bee. Our ultimate goal is to equip students with the necessary academic and spiritual foundation for the next level of education and life. With this solid foundation, students are better prepared to handle the demands of a challenging high school experience and beyond.
