Grades 1 - 4 will play in the ESCRA (East Shelby Church Recreation Association) league. Practices and games where sportsmanship and teamwork are emphasized will be structured for fun and enjoyment of the game as well as skill building. Practices will begin in November. Teams will practice in the Central Church gym with the schedule being determined with the coach coordinating through the Athletic Director. Games will begin in December with a break for the Christmas Holidays and finish in February. Games will be played on Saturdays.
Grades 5 – 8 will participate in the PAA (Parochial Athletic Association.) league. (Depending upon our response and evaluation, we may elect to have the 5-6 grade girls play in the ESCRA league.) PAA will compete against other private schools of similar enrollment. If so, we will advise parents and make any adjustments necessary. Schedule permitting, we will have home games. Even though the teams will be competitive, instruction, skill-building and sportsmanship will be emphasized. Practices will begin in November. All players in grades 5 – 8 must have a signed permission form and proof of a physical after March 1, 2009. According to the PAA league rules, your child cannot play in a game until these forms are on file with the CDS Athletic Director.
Registration & Participation Approval Form – Each player must complete and submit a registation form. The form must be returned with the registration fee.
Medical Release – Each player must have a medical release after March 1, 2009 on file signed by physician. If a student participated in Cross Country or Volleyball this school year, and has a current physical form on file dated after March 1 for this school year, then a new physical is not necessary. Registration Fee - The registration fee is $95 per player for grades 1 – 4 and $110 for grades 5 – 8. There is an early registration discount of $15 if fees are paid before October 23. The fee includes a uniform jersey and shorts, a participation award and sports banquet. Pictures will be offered for a separate fee later in the season. We will not be able to accept registrations after October 28.
