Kindergarten Academic and Spiritual Development |
| The learning adventure is just beginning! Kindergarten is the opportunity for children to become acquainted to the more structured school setting while exploring their natural curiosity of the world around them. Children love to learn and our goal is to foster and nurture that passion for learning in kindergarten. Our full-day class offers a routine that creates a variety of learning experiences throughout the day. The core curriculum includes phonics-based reading teaching consonants, blends, short and long vowel sounds and word decoding. Concrete math concepts are introduced including telling time, value of coins, use of the calendar, addition and subtraction. Science explores the creation of plants and animals in God’s world. Our approach to Bible for kindergartners is to teach God’s love for them and share character and value lessons using old and new testament Bible stories. Learning center time allows children to develop necessary social and developmental skills through focused activities and structured play. The kindergarten schedule also includes instruction by teaching specialists in art, computer, library, music, P.E. and science lab. Students also attend a thirty-minute chapel once a week where Christ’s love is shared as student worship, praise, pray and sing. |
